The ARTEX ELT 4000 is a transport-grade Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) that uses alkaline batteries as an innovative power source to make this commercial grade ELT completely exempt from FAA special condition requirements. This lowers the cost of ownership with lower battery expense per cycle, no hazmat shipping, and easy disposal.

The ELT 4000 can either be activated manually, with the remote switch, or automatically when the G-switch detects a 2.3G or greater impact; it then alerts the nearest Search and Rescue agency of the emergency. The 406 MHz signal transmits GPS coordinates to Cospas-Sarsat satellites, and a 121.5 MHz homing signal assists Search and Rescue with finding the location of the crash.

This Transport Grade ELT provides quick-and-easy retrofit opportunities with flexible installation options such as a two-wire remote switch that does not require aircraft power. The ELT 4000 is TSO approved for retrofit installations with legacy switch and antenna systems, and uses the same RF output and one coax cable to transmit both 406 and 121.5 MHz. Further reducing costs, this Alkaline ELT includes a built-in ARINC429 navigation interface, and the mounting tray is compatible with Artex C and B series emergency locator transmitters.

*9600 standard baud rate unless otherwise requested.

This Artex ELT 4000 base pack (8262-ELT) includes the ELT unit, mounting cap, cover assemble, mounting tray, install kit, buzzer, mounting strap, antenna, 6ft BNC coax cable, cockpit remote switch.
